Issues with Code Execution Tool

In the process of rolling out a feature, we made a code change that went out at approximately 2026/02/14 06:30 UTC that resulted in errors for API requests using the Code Execution tool. This introduced an incompatibility between two services when one was rolled out but not the other. We have since identified the issue, have resolved it, and will be putting in automatic alerts to auto-detect these incompatibilities going forawrd.
We have deployed a fix for Code Execution tool on the API.

On February 3, 2026, the Claude API experienced approximately 15 minutes of elevated error rates \(HTTP 500s\) beginning at approximately 7:32 PT / 15:32 UTC due to an internal configuration update. The issue was quickly identified and resolved by reverting the configuration change. We have identified follow-up improvements to prevent similar issues and to improve our monitoring and alerting.

Purchasing has been confirmed working regularly again, since around 2:30pm Pacific Time. Engineers are monitoring to ensure the system stays healthy.

We've received reports that some customers who purchase API or Extra Usage credits are having issues purchasing, and some purchases charged successfully are resulting in significant delay until those customers see the updated credits. Engineering is investigating.

Some users are experiencing delays in purchasing additional API credits

During the outage, all of the following were delayed: - customer balances - billing for standard API usage - issuing credit auto-recharge invoices - access shutoff/restore for $0 in credits, and for reaching spend limits The outage has now been resolved. There is no longer a system delay for any of the above.
Some customers are experiencing delays in having their successful credit purchases applied and in triggering credit auto-reloads. We have identified the issue and are working to resolve.
