API Status Check ("we", "us", "our") operates apistatuscheck.com. This page describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
We keep it simple: we collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
What we collect
Analytics (automatic)
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how people use the site. This collects:
- Page views and referrer URLs
- Country (from IP, not stored)
- Device type and browser
Vercel Analytics is privacy-focused — no cookies, no personal data stored, no cross-site tracking.
Email (if you subscribe)
When you sign up for alerts or a paid plan, we collect your email address. We use it to:
- Send outage alerts for APIs you selected
- Send recovery notifications
- Process your subscription
We never send marketing emails. You can unsubscribe at any time from your dashboard or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
Payment (if you subscribe to a paid plan)
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- No tracking cookies. We don't use cookies for analytics or tracking.
- No data selling. We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
- No ad networks. No Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising trackers.
- No profiling. We don't build profiles about you or track you across websites.

Data retention
- Analytics: Aggregated, no personal data retained.
- Email & account data: Kept while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account cancellation or upon request.
- API status data: Historical uptime data is retained for up to 30 days per API.
Your rights
You can:
- Request a copy of any data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Unsubscribe from all emails at any time
- Cancel your subscription and have payment data removed from Stripe

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be noted with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
