E2M (Events-2-Metrics) authorization issues
Jul 17, 10:21 AM โ Resolved Jul 17, 10:21 AM
Between 15:00 UTC on July 14th and 10:00 UTC on July 17th, we experienced an issue where some customers experienced authorization issues when attempting to create, read or update E2M (Events-2-Metrics) rules in the US, EU and JP regions. This was due to a recent change we have made to our authorization endpoints. These endpoints now require S2S authentication which has caused requests to our E2M (Events-2-Metrics) to fail. Our teams have rolled back these changes until a permanent fix can be put in place. The issue is now resolved, and the impacted services have returned to normal service.

Is New Relic down for everyone or just me?
To determine whether it's a widespread New Relic outage or a problem specific to your account or location:
- Check the status indicator above โ if this page shows a major outage, it's confirmed global.
- Try a different device or network โ if it works on mobile data but not Wi-Fi, it's likely a local network issue, not New Relic.
- Clear cache and cookies โ browser issues can mimic service outages.
- Check community reports โ Downdetector and social media will show whether hundreds of other users are reporting the same issue.
- Test the API directly (for developers) โ a raw request returning 5xx errors confirms a service-side outage; a 429 means you've hit your personal rate limit.
